CA resumes after two days of disruption - Sep 29, 2008
Kathmandu NewsLine: The legislative meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) resumed Sunday after two days of disruption caused by the protest of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC).
The session resumed after Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai told the House that the government would incorporate the suggestions made by the lawmakers on the budget for the new fiscal year.
Debate on the appropriation bill will resume Monday when Bhattarai will present a written commitment on the issue.
On Saturday, NC lawmakers had refused to allow the House proceedings saying the government failed to consider their suggestions regarding the lapses in the budget.
The previous day, NC and few other parties had boycotted the debate, protesting the entry of the security guard of a Maoist lawmaker in the CA premises with weapon.
